Description

Teaching the cubs compass and map skills using a topographical map of Wellington, New Zealand (ideally you've photocopied one showing the city from the west coast through to Evans Bay).

The attached document has answers for the leaders and two quizzes for the cubs (print of enough quizzes for the cubs to work in pairs or threes and an answer sheet for each leader)

Resources

Printouts, pens/pencils for the cubs. Compasses or rulers for the cubs.

Instructions

Cubs, using a compass or ruler look at the map photocopy and answer the quiz. For the "hard" quiz they will need to know the cardinal directions and follow along with the instructions, measuring distance as they go.
