Instructions

You can ask the girls to identify plants, specific fruits and vegetables. Even herbs. This can be done in groups. We played a quick game of Scavenger Hunt to find different plants growing. The girls enjoyed being able to identify things.

Leaders asked questions for the girls to answer like: which plant is your favourite ? which plant has the nicest smell ? Which plants promote bees to come into the garden?

Some community gardens only allow specific gardeners to pick the crops; be sure to ask permission before picking, or taking anything from the garden.
