Description

A Haggis Hunt for Scouts based on a mini scavenger hunt leading to clues as to where the haggis might be. The scene is set with the story of the haggis. This activity is part of a Burns Night with the hunt taking place (for us) in the open space by our Scout hut.

Setting the scene and instructions sheet (download)
A small cage, trap or box with holes in
A pretend haggis. You can use an old walking sock.

Instructions

Read the scene set & explain rules
1. Bring back 5 items in a patrol that haggi use to build nests.
2. Based on performance in 1. the Scouts get a clue as to where the Haggi might be.
The winning patrol is the first back with the caged haggis ready for it to be cooked,
Follow on with tasting after other activities 20 mins later
