What we do as our opening ceremony for our Beaver Colony

Instructions

1) Leader shouts - "Beavers, gather logs" - Beavers gather in a large circle around the leader holding hands, leaving plenty of space in the middle of the circle.
2) Leader shouts - "Build a dam!" - Beavers raise their joined hands and take 5 steps into the middle of the circle towards the leader. With each step they should say one letter of the word "HELLO" to spell it out.
3) Once they have taken their 5 steps they should let go of each others hands and wave to each other.
4) Leader then gets all Beavers to sing our welcome song "Hello Beavers"
5) Once song has finished leader talks through the nights activities and the fun begins.
