Resources
a selection of the following milk cartons/cereal boxes/toilet paper tubes/paper coffee cups/shoe boxes/paper straws/string
staplers
colouring markers, pencils or crayons
scissors and glue
sellotape
Instructions
This activity is linked to the story of Rapunzel however, if you prefer, you could base this activity on any character that is of interest to the Brownies in your Unit, for example, your Unit mascot or the Brownie Branch mascot.
Instructions
1. Read the story of Rapunzel to your Unit.
2. Place all the materials in the centre of the meeting place and allow the girls in their Sixes to design a tower for Rapunzel to live in.
3. Following on from building their tower they will then have to design an escape for Rapunzel using the materials. It could be a zip line, a ladder, a pulley, a slide, a catapult etc.
4. Each Six will share with the rest of the Unit how they built their tower and escape route.
5. Allow the Sixes time to discuss what worked best and what they would change if they were to complete the challenge again.
