Instructions

Plan and carry out a 40 km (25 mile) bike ride.

Planning
Using OS Explorer Maps, Google maps and Sustrans, plan a route for a family bike ride.
https://www.sustrans.org.uk/national-cycle-network/
Bear in mind the types of route that you want to use and avoid.
Also consider the amount of elevation that you will have to ascend and descent, make sure that all routes are within the fitness and technical ability of your family members. Your parents/guardians might not thank you if you include 3000m of climbing and a hair raising 50kmph descent!

Make sure you take enough water for the ride, I would suggest about 1 litre per person
Take plenty of high energy snacks. Things like flapjack and trail mix are ideal, but a good sandwich or scotch egg can make it more appealing.

Riding
Obey the Highway Code!
Always stay together with your family group. Ride at the pace of the slowest member of your family group.
Stay within your technical capabilities.
Take regular break to have some water
If you have a cycling app such as Strava, record your ride and upload a screenshot to OSM as evidence
Take pictures of your adventure and upload to OSM as evidence
