Instructions
Have an open debate with your Scouts, including the following:
Correct clothing for cycling in the wet.
Road conditions, and bike handling:
Road - potholes, standing water and debris washed across the road
Offroad - mud, wet roots, slippery stone.
Bike handling when cycling in the wet. including on and off road.
Bike handling when cycling in high wind, including (dangerous) cross wind and (hard work) head wind.
Other road users:
Cars in the wet, lower visibility and longer stopping distances
Other cyclists need more space.
