Description

This activity can be run at a normal cub night, a district badge day or virtually via zoom or on badges at home. It asks the cubs to create a news report and film themselves doing this.

This activity goes towards the communicator badge

Resources

Handout 1 (Newspaper template) - print out in advance, felt pens, coloured pencils, mobile phone or other recording device

Instructions

Read out the instructions to the cubs, this could be done face to face, virtually via zoom or other application or you could record yourself reading the instructions and upload this to badges at home.

If done at home make sure the parents supervise the watching of the you tube video.

Cubs need to fill out handout 1 (Newsletter template) either by printing it out and handwriting or create something using word or other software.

Once complete the cubs need to read out their report whilst being filmed. For those more IT savvy you could ask the cubs to edit their final video.
