Fire Safety at Home (1/7 - Escape Plan)

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Acting out escape plans in the home.

Resources

A portable device to record/show the route at the virtual meeting.

Instructions

For each three scenarios ask cubs to act out what they would do, correcting and explaining why what they suggest may not be best (especially why breaking and climbing out of a window would not work as it may cause more injuries):

1) Cub starts in their bedroom, fire in the kitchen: Cubs should escape through front door.
2) Cub starts in living room, fire by front door: Cub should use secondary exit if it exist (e.g. into the garden)
3) Cub starts in bed room, fire on stair case: Cubs should go to a room with access to road (if possible), open window to get fresh air and to call for help, close room door and block bottom with towel/other clothes to stop smoke.
