Create a care package for a local Care Home

Instructions
Leader’s pre-planning: find out the name, location and contact details of a care home local to you. Contact them and ask if they would mind your Scouts/Explorers contacting their residents and sending a care package. They could provide you with a list of first names and a little detail about their residents for you to give each Scout/Explorer an individual to write to.
Create a ‘care package’ for one of the residents there. You can include items like a sealed packet of biscuits, boiled sweets, chocolate, toiletries, hot chocolate sachets, jams, quiz books, gloves, etc. Use a box no bigger than a shoe box to put the items in, but do not include anything with a short shelf life. You may also like to decorate the box with wrapping paper or pictures as this is going to be a gift.
Write a letter to one of the residents to include in the care pack. Maybe tell them what life has been like in lockdown with no school etc, what you have been doing to keep yourself busy or how you have been doing your schoolwork.
You could follow this up when social distancing measures are relaxed with a visit to the home.
