Use of the attached PPT file as well - equipment
YP:
x1 piece of A4 paper
x1 writing instrument
Instructions
BEFORE:
Use the attached PPT to complete 'Show you understand how to dress appropriately and what equipment you and the adults will need on the activity'
Before we 'set off' on the adventure - set the scene - i.e. it is a hot place, sunshine, jungle.
Ask them to think about what they would need to wear - have a slide of pictures to get them thinking (some silly, some sensible). They discuss with parent, write/draw and then all discuss.
ADVENTURE:
Download the PPT and screen-share it with the YP as a slideshow.
The actual story to read out is in the presenter view when running it with the YP. Either print out the 'notes' or use a dual-monitor system and presenter view.
NB: It is best to have a run-through before sharing it with the YP in order to have a rough idea of where it will lead.
AFTERWARDS:
Get the YP to draw a simple 'treasure map' of where they live, and a few key places nearby, e.g. their school, scout HQ, etc.
