Description
3 games used for our first night back with Beavers since lockdown.
We are using hoops for the Beavers to stand in to remain distanced so all these games are based around being in hoops
Resources
Hoop for each Beaver to stand in
Instructions
1. Getting to know you game
My name is Panther, I’m going to Beaver camp and I’m taking my pyjamas.
My name is Bob, I’m going to Beaver camp and I’m taking a banana and this is Panther and he’s taking pyjamas,…. Etc.
2. Rearrange hoops, into a grid—make sure there is 1 empty hoop (beavers move their own hoop, once hoops are moved Beavers do not need to touch them again during the game)
Give Beavers a series of challenges to rearrange themselves, they can only move to a hoop if it is next to their current hoop (left/right, forwards/backwards NOT diagonally)
- Boys on left, girls on right
- Age order (front left to back right in a snake)
- 1 school/class per row
- Etc...
- Get back to original positions
3. Hoops in circle—one hoop in middle
SPLAT
- Beaver (or leader) in middle points to one Beaver (A) and says SPLAT, Beaver A has to duck and the Beavers on either side (B & C) turn towards each other saying SPLAT.
- If Beaver A doesn't duck before B or C say SPLAT then they are out, sit down. If A ducks fast enough which ever of B & C is slowest to say SPLAT is out and has to sit down
- Continue over heads of those who are out till there are only 2 left.
- last 2 stand opposite each other facing opposite directions, leader says random words when they say SPLAT then the 2 Beavers turn to splat each other.
