Description
Scouts to create a piece of artwork that is their name in Arabic.
With thanks to Amir Cheema for idea and material.
Resources
1. Arabic name sheet per Scout
2. Metallic pens - gold, silver, bronze
3. Metallic pencils
4. paper clips
5. carbon copy paper
6. black card
7. pencil
Instructions
Use google translate to find the Scout's name in Arabic. Print this out as large as possible in the middle of an A4 or A5 piece of paper.
You will need to set up the name sheet so that you can trace your Arabic name onto the card. To do this you need the name sheet on top, then carbon paper shiny side down, then the piece of card. If you have the carbon paper the wrong way around, it will not transfer to the card. Once you have your three items in order, use the paper clips to secure them.
Take your pencil and very carefully trace the outline of your Arabic name. Please note, Arabic is written right to left.
Now you can remove the paper clips, name sheet and the carbon paper and work on the card.
If you have metallic pencils, you can trace over the black print. Otherwise, just move straight to carefully colouring in your name with metallic pen(s).
Remember to write your name in English on the back of the card so that you know what it is in the future.
