Make a poster of space - featuring the planets and stars.

Resources

Black paper
Coloured paper cut into circles for the planets and the sun (9 in total)
Metallic pens and pencils for making the stars

Instructions

Pre-cut the circles for the planets and the sun trying to make the colours as close to the planet colours as possible
Give each YP a piece of black paper and the coloured circles
Explain the order of the planets and get YP to stick the planets on in the right order away from the sun (will probably need to go diagonally across the page to fit them all in) - Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
Add the rings to Saturn and Uranus
Add dots and star shapes around the page to represent the stars
