Description
CAN YOU MAKE A DELICIOUS EDIBLE SCARF AT HOME?
Use simple ingredients to create an edible version of your scarf and practice some simple cooking at the same time!
Resources
A packet of READY ROLLED PUFF PASTRY (from around £1 at shops)
A topping (or toppings!) of your choice - go sweet or savoury or both. For example: jam, Marmite, Nutella, grated cheese, tomato puree/pizza sauce. Why not make a pizza-style scarf by adding a few chopped veggies on the top at the end? BE INVENTIVE!
A beaten egg (for glaze)
An oven, utensils & oven gloves.
Instructions
1. Pre-heat oven to 180C
2. Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut into 4 triangles
3. Spread a triangle with your chosen topping
4. Roll up your 'scarf' from long straight edge towards point, leaving a little bit of exposed triangle
5. Cross over the ends to look like a scarf!
6. Optionally - brush the pastry with a little beaten egg to glaze and give it a more golden colour when cooked
7. Transfer to a baking sheet
8. Bake for about 15 min or until golden and cooked through. Be aware of the ingredients you chose and make sure they are piping hot and cooked through.
9. Remove, allow to cool for a couple of minutes and tuck in!
10. Don't forget to help clear up and wash up afterwards << this part counts towards your badges too!
I drew a diagram that might help!
