A JUSTDANCE FUN PARTY LIVE IN YOUR LIVING ROOM!

To celebrate pretty much ANYTHING (half-term, Friday's, Valentine's day...) get members and their families to join in with a great fun JustDance party! With hours of BANGING tunes you can be sure to dance the time away. Why not arrange some party snacks and soft-drinks to really make a special event of it?!


Resources

LEADER: Laptop/tablet (internet connected) to host a meeting via Zoom; REQUIRED Smartphone with the FREE JustDance Now app installed; in-app subscription to JustDance Now (cancel to avoid repeat charges)

ATTENDEE: Laptop or Tablet (internet connected) to join a meeting via Zoom; OPTIONALLY a Smartphone with the FREE JustDance Now app installed

Instructions

LEADER PREPARATION
On your Smartphone - download and install the free JustDance Now app; use in-app purchases to subscribe to JustDance Now - this gives you unlimited access to the playlist for 1 month (remember to cancel subscription after the session)

On your Laptop/tablet - start ZOOM and host a meeting in the normal way
On your Laptop/tablet - start JustDance Now. If your platform has a JustDance Now App available it is STRONGLY recommended to install and use it - otherwise go to https://justdancenow.com/ in your browser.
On your Smartphone - open JustDance Now and enter the "Dance Room" shown on your laptop/tablet. It should show you are the host/chooser within JustDance Now (this is important so you can start/stop the tunes).

In ZOOM start hosting the meeting and "Share" your Desktop - remember to turn on SHARE SOUND and OPTIMIZE FOR VIDEO CLIP options as you start the share. Recommend keeping participants MUTED throughout.

TIPS
It works best if you have the Zoom app installed rather than running Zoom via the web browser.
Close or stop any other programs or apps on your laptop/tablet - this improves the overall performance of the device.
Have a dry run with a willing volunteer to check all the technology works as you expect.
Get a play list ready of your favourite songs and dances ready to go!


RUNNING THE DANCE PARTY
Participant should join the Zoom meeting in the usual way on a laptop/tablet - this is how they will SEE the dance coach on JustDance.
If using a Smartphone as a dance controller, participants should install and open the free JustDance Now app from their normal App Store. Participants should WAIT for the Leader to start the dance party.

Leader shares their desktop on Zoom and shares their JustDance Now screen.
Leader asks everyone to join the Dance Room - the number and a QR Code are shown TOP LEFT of the Leader's screen - it should be visible to all participants via zoom.

Participants join the Dance Room on their individual Smartphones.

When you're ready... start playing the tunes!

The JustDance Now song should play and participants follow along via zoom!
REMEMBER - the leader MUST keep their laptop/tablet sound turned ON and microphone UNMUTED to ensure participants get the sound/music... just remember to keep silent while the song is playing :-)

At the end of each song, give a shout out to the dancers and line up the next track!

TAKING PART IS EASY
How does it work? Your smartphone turns into a controller and tracks your moves!
0. Join the Zoom/online meeting as normal. The leader will share their screen.
1. Simply launch the Just Dance Now app on your smartphone.
2. Enter the room number located at the top of screen.
3 .Then, hold your device in your right hand and follow the dancers on screen!

All you need is a device to run Zoom and (optionally) a separate smartphone phone with the free JustDance Now app installed.
As many people can take part as you like - they just need a phone and the app!
Clear a space and get ready to follow the dancer on the Zoom screen, holding you phone in your right hand. It’s as easy as that.

GETTING READY
- set up a screen to connect to Zoom - this is how you follow the dance coach.
- A laptop or tablet work well - connect or 'cast to your TV for an even better experience, if you can.
- install JustDance Now on your smartphone. It's available FREE from the usual app stores.
- every player could have their own JustDance Now enabled smartphone - this is how the game tracks your dance moves! It's not essential - but it adds to the fun.
- you don't have to stay for the whole thing - it IS a party after all... but we'd love as many as possible to make the most of it and dance as much as you want during the session.

Send music requests IN ADVANCE to a leader.

For the benefit of everyone attending, one adult MUST be present (on screen or within the same room) with their child throughout the online meeting. It's great fun for adults too - so why not join in for some of those club classics?!

HINTS AND TIPS

- enter the Dance Room Number to connect to other players
- dance safely - we don't want any accidents or breakages!
- ANYONE can join in, adults included!
- need a break? Just stop dancing and come back when you are ready!
- if you get disconnected from the Dance Room - just rejoin and carry on!
- if your App (on the smartphone) seems stuck - just restart the app. rejoin and carry on!
- if you can't get the App to work, or you don't have a smartphone - JUST DANCE!
