Description

Virtual/online approach to Navigator level 1 and 2 activity badges and Local knowledge activity badge. Also supports learning for Expedition challenge award (navigation and equipment).
Powerpoint slides provide reference & instruction examples, quizzes to test understanding, and answers at the end.
NOTE - quizzes are specific to Burghfield and Sulhamstead Scout group - for other Scout groups these would need to be tailored to the relevant local area to qualify for Local Knowledge activity badge.

Instructions

Discuss through Reference & Instruction (purple) sections, test knowledge on Quiz/Activity (blue) sections and review against Answers (yellow) section. Expected scores are in the Powerpoint presenter notes.

When run in conjunction with our own version of Channel 4's Treasure Hunt (leaders/supporters on mobile Zoom, taking exercise to grid references and local points of interest as directed by the Scouts from the comfort of their respective homes), this completes the requirements of Navigator 1 & 2, and Local Knowledge. Alternatively the requirements to go for a walk with a map and use a map in an outdoor activity can be completed when face to face Scouting is resumed.
