Instructions

Aim of Badge:
To become familiar with your locality
This badge has 4 options of which all 4 must be completed

Introduction

To prepare for this meeting,
• take a walk around the area.
• Identify the route for your quiz.
• You can draw or even download a map for it.
• Identify key items you will need like road signs and crossings.

You may choose to stay on the move, starting and possibly ending your meeting at two different points. If you do this, discussion about the activities will have to wait until the next meeting (either on Zoom or in person).
Otherwise, once the Brownies have been dropped off, depending on the number (maximum 12), they can set up stations with their sit-upons in one large pre-distanced circle, or divide the Unit into two circles.

Instructions

• Using your chosen route, make up some local knowledge questions. For example, how many shops that sell bread are on a particular street; what number is the pharmacy?
• Take the Brownies on the route.
• They can fill out the quiz as they go, or when they get back.
