Sounds in the Round

Instructions
Let’s try and make a sound orchestra.
Ask the Ladybirds what sounds they can all make. Why not try out some of these together: clicking, clapping, saying oohs and ahhs. Ask the Ladybirds, one by one, to make a sound. Once all the Ladybirds have made their individual sounds get them all to make their sound at the same time.
Once everyone has mastered those, ask the Ladybirds to take a look around their room to see if there’s anything that they could use to make their sound. Perhaps the Ladybirds could hit a pan with a wooden spoon or run a pen along the curly spine of a notebook. When all the Ladybirds have found something and are back, one by one let all the Ladybirds show off their new sound to the rest of the Unit.
Now, once all the Ladybirds have showcased their sounds, it’s time to find a beat.
• Altogether, slowly count out loud: one, two, three, four.
• One by one, the Leader will choose a Ladybird to make a noise on each beat. So, it might be: clap, clap, clap, clap. The leader will then choose the next Ladybird to make their sound.
• Once all the Ladybirds have been chosen to make their sounds, the orchestra is complete. Each Ladybird can give herself a big round of applause.
Wow! We bet that was a beautiful sound. This game can also be played when you’re back meeting face-to-face with your Unit.
