Using tent pegs and string
Place tent peg in ground, following instructions place new peg. Join with string. This encourages team work too as girls have to work together to mark out the steps, put in the pegs and tie the rope around it.

Sting/Rope. Paracord works well if you have something that thick, it is bright and easy for girls to wrap around.

Instructions

Girls follow the compass instructions to create a shape (the trefoil). Start the girls off with the first peg and tie the rope onto it. Demonstrate how to step - heel to toe. This makes it more accurate. Once girls have completed the number of steps in the correct direction, girls put a peg in and wrap the rope around it to form the first line. Continue for all the instructions until the shape is completed.
