Description

Cubs will try 4 different ways to light a fire:
1. matches & straw/kindling/paper
2. Flints & cotton wool
3. Battery & Wirewool
4. wood sticks & straw

a safety talk will be given before the activities begin and reminders given throughout

Flints, D batteries, straw. cotton wool pads. sticks. Matches

Instructions

split into 4 groups for 4 stations as per above description.

dedicate a leader to each activity
Cub groups rotate round the 4 activities.
leader shows cubs what to do, then each cub in turn has a go, supervised by the leader. then cubs move onto next activity.
all 15mins per activity/station.
