Aim of Badge
One of the targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 is to ensure that people everywhere have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature by 2030. There are 5 activities in this badge. Activities 1 and 2 are compulsory. Complete one of the three optional activities 3-5.
Introduction
Activity No. 3: I went to the shop and I didn’t buy … is an optional activity. This activity is to help the Ladybirds think about all the products in the shops that are made from plastic or that have plastic wrapping.
Instructions
It is best to play this game as a group but if the Ladybird group is very big it might be a good idea to split the group in half.
Ask the Ladybirds to sit in a circle and say you are going on a trip to the supermarket. Ask each Ladybird in the circle to think of a product in the shop that has plastic on it or is made of plastic. Then going around the circle, each Ladybird then says the plastic product aloud to the group. For example, “I went to the shop and I didn’t buy plastic straws”. The next Ladybird also has to say whatever the Ladybird before them didn’t buy in the shop - this is where the memory part comes into the game. If the Ladybird cannot remember what the previous Ladybirds have said, the other Ladybirds can help her by doing an action.
