Defend your king and castle from attack with this quick thinking team game.

Resources

Masking Tape or cones
Soft Ball
Bucket
A teddy, as the king of the castle

Instructions

Use the masking tape to mark out a square in the centre of the room. Place the bucket upside down in the center of the square with the teddy/king of the castle sat on top.

Have the young people all stand around the square. Explain that one six/patrol at a time will go in the square as knights to defend the bucket/castle whilst the others attack from the outside by trying to hit the bucket with the ball to knock off the king of the castle.

The attackers need to use tactics to throw the knights off by passing it to each other before trying to hit the bucket/castle. The attackers are not aloud to cross the tape into the square if the ball gets stuck in the square then a knight has to throw it back out to a leader.

If any of the knight accidently knocks the king off then the round is forfeit, as treason has been committed! Swap sixes/patrols round and go again.
