Active game to identify which items can be reused, recycled or are rubbish

Resources

Selection of items which can either be
- reused (eg old clothing*, tupperware and reusable drinks bottles, bag for life)
- recycled (tin cans*, plastic bags*, plastic bottles*, glass bottles*, banana peel*, tea bag*)
- rubbish (paper towels and tissues*, disposable nappy*, cling film, crisp packets)

* These all tie in with the items on the Wise Up To Waste activity https://prod-cms.scouts.org.uk/media/11868/wise-up-to-waste-image-cards.pdf, so can be used again to discuss how long rubbish takes to break down.

Instructions

Mark 3 areas as Reuse, Recycle and Rubbish.
Show each of the items in turn, and have children run to the area they think the item belongs to. Ask them to explain their choice.
