Description

Choice of up to 5 easy main meals and one snack for Scouts to cook on double burner. Includes recipes and spreadsheet to provide a convenient combined shopping list.

Instructions

Each patrol is allocated a meal to prepare, cook and wash up. Default ingredients are for 2 people per patrol as this is a "taster" for the patrol and not a meal. If desired, other patrols can come and sample a patrol's meal when it is ready so that all Scout taste all menus.

To use the spreadsheet, find the "Data" tab. In the "Uses" column put 1 or 0 against each of the ingredients according to whether you want cook a given dish (ingredients are sorted by dish). Press <Ctrl><Alt><F5> to refresh and the "Shopping List" tab pivot table shows a consolidated shopping list across all dishes.

For larger portion sizes put a higher number in the "Uses" column. For example, putting "2" against all ingredients for chicken curry provides that meal sized for 4 people. If desired, you could then split the ingredients for 4 so that 2 patrols cook chicken curry for 2 people. Simples!
