Description

The scout hut is divided down the middle with a row of chairs, and the cubs on each side have to get rid of as many snowballs (paper balls or plastic balls) from their side by throwing them to the other side. After around a minute or two, start a ten second countdown and whichever side has the least snowballs on it wins.

Resources

Over 50 balls (or can be scrunched up paper wrapped in sellotape)

Instructions

Divide the hall in half by putting a row of chairs down the middle
Split the cubs into two teams and put the teams on different sides of the chairs
Put half the snowballs on one side and half on the other side
After a three second countdown, the cubs have to throw as many snowballs as they can to the other side
After a minute or two start a 10 second countdown and then when it reaches 0 tell the cubs to stop and stay still
Count the amount of snowballs on each side, and the side with the least snowballs on it wins

The cubs have to throw the snowballs over the chairs, as it is too easy if they can roll the snowballs under them
You can repeat this activity if the cubs enjoy it and do a best of 3 or a best of 5
