Beavers learn about the in-equality of trade through a game.

Two or 3 teams (country) relay race.

Teams (farmers) collect a pile of coffee beans one by one and put in a box.
Each team take there harvest to market (leaders)
Leaders pay farmers Australia 10p each India 2p each and Brazil 1p each.

Resources

20 beans, buttons etc for each team
3 x baskets or boxes
10ps 2ps and 1ps for each country or haribos mini packs, 2singles and 1 single.

Instructions

Traditional relay game,

3 teams x number of farmers

Farmer takes bean and runs to put it in the harvest box.

Harvesr goes to leaders (wholesale) at the end for sale

Leader (supermarket) says he will pay more if farmers get more.
