Description

A fast paced game of cricket. The bowler can bowl at any time. Batter must run for every throw.

Resources

1 ball
1 cricket bat
3 cones
a set of stumps

Instructions

Set out the stumps at one end of the room, with a cone several meters to the left or right. Opposite the stumps, several meters away, place another cone to mark the position of the bowler. Players take it in turns to bat and to bowl. The easiest way to do this is for the youngest to bat first, whilst the oldest bowls first. Bowlers get 5 throws each before swapping for another bowler. The batter must run around the cone to their left or right, every time the bowler bowls. Only the bowler may get the batter out, by hitting the stumps, so the ball must be returned to the bowler by the fielders. Anyone not batting or bowling shall be a fielder. There should be one fielder behind the stumps. LBW rules apply. The batter may be caught out by any of the fielders or the bowler. If playing inside and the ball bounces off the wall, it may still be caught, but with one hand only. Once the stumps have been hit either by the bowler, or the batter, their turn is over and the next batter takes their place. The player with the most runs at the end is the winner.
