Resources
Black, red and green fimo (Cherry Red, Black, Leaf green)
Spatulas
Baking trays (mince pie type)
Name labels (use OSM badge inserts)
Badge pins
Hot glue gun
Sample picture
Oven (after meeting)
Instructions
In advance, prepare name labels on paper and place one in each pie slot on the baking tray(s).
Pre-cut the fimo into appropriately sized pieces
- 4 x red petals
- 1 x black centre
- 1 x green leaf
Beavers roll the petals and centre in their hands to make a pea shape and then mould with their fingers. The leaf is made by rolling a green sausage and then shaping with the hands.
Spatulas can be used to add features such as veins on leaves.
Place red petals onto each other overlapping in the middle to form the poppy flower then cover the middle with the black centre. Attach the leaf under the flower.
A leader takes the finished poppy to the tray and places in the slot marked with the Beaver's name ensuring that all elements are attached to each other in a single whole.
Bake as directed on packet to "fire" the poppies
Use a glue gun to attach the badge pin to the back of the poppy.
Hand out at a future meeting.
