Description

A modified version of the matching game 'Concentration' using letters from the Phonetic Alphabet.
Teaches the Phonetic alphabet in a fun way

Resources

A4 Printouts of the Phonetic Alphabet Words (missing the first letter to make it harder if you want!)
A4 Printouts of the Alphabet Letters
Could use Pen and paper instead of printouts too

Instructions

Divide kids into teams and randomly arrange the sheets face down in a grid on the floor
Each team takes it in turns to send one member to reveal two sheets from the grid. If the sheets match (e.g 'A' with 'Alpha') they take the sheet and score a point
If it doesn't match they put the sheets back face down.
Next team then has a go trying to remember where the letters are hidden
Continue until all the letters are matched, team with the highest score wins!

To make it a bit trickier for scouts I've left off the first letter of each word so
A Matches with 'lpha'
F Matches With 'oxtrot'
T Matches With 'ango'
etc.
