A simple activitiy to encourage Beavers to think further ahead and understand how they can benefit from long term planning.

Resources

Marshmallows (or other sweet treats) - 2 per Beaver

Instructions

Speak to Beavers about how making a good decision and how being patient can be more rewarding than being spontaneous.

Give every Beaver ONE sweet treat and explain that it is entirely their decision whether they eat their treat now, or later, but that if they decide to wait & save their treat they will be rewarded with a second at the end of the night.

Discuss why they made this decision - for example many of our Beavers chose to save their marshmallow so they could have a 2nd one to share with a sibling.
