LGBT history posters

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

During LGBT history and or pride month engage with your young people to create informational and promotional posters related to notable people who are LGBT and how scouting is an inclusive environment for all.

Resources

Laptop/phone - but can be done on paper
WIFI (preferable but not required)

Instructions

split troop into patrols / groups to create posters on the website Canva - would be worth asking them to make a free account before meeting/activity:

Have some create a poster on a famous/historical LGBT person e.g. Alan turning etc. (ideas for people can come from Kent inclusion team pride month 2021 Facebook posts.)

Have some create a scouting poster about LGBT in scouting: information from scouts website, Kent Scouts inclusion team page on Kent scouts website, or the FLAGS SASU.

When finished print out and display around hall (if possible) and reflect on what you have done.
- ask YP why do they think doing this is important?
- Why is it important to remember and learn about other groups histories? Especially when these groups are still being discriminated against?
