Description

Using maps of the local area have scouts find out history/information about 6 different areas of interest in the local area and how to get to them from the Scout hall.

Resources

a map of local area
pen and paper
phones/laptop/ research materials (can be printed before hand)

Instructions

Divide troop into patrols and have them research places of interest / use in the local area. (can also work with them being given 1-3 things e.g. main railway, coach station, etc. for the local knowledge badge criteria

After they have found out information about them, have them find it and show they can show the route to take to get to said place from the scout hall.
