Instructions

Gathering the girls in a circle, talk about the Ladybird motto and if they know what it means. Give them all a chance to explain their interpretation of the motto.

Then it’s time for a game. Explain, however, that only certain people can play. Then pick the different criteria that allows some Ladybirds to be part of the game. For example, ‘if you have long hair, you can play so sit down’ or ‘if you are wearing your sash, you can play so sit down'.

Make sure there are at least two left standing at the end who cannot join the game (at least two because it can be daunting for one Ladybird to be left standing alone). Ask them how they feel to not be allowed play.

After you have discussed how they feel, let them know that, since this is Ladybirds and no bullying or exclusion is allowed, they are most definitely welcome to join in the game.

A fun movement game for everyone should follow - one favourite is Ship, Sea, Shore.
