Description
Halloween Skeleton
Resources
• 1 sheet of black card (half an A4 sheet per Ladybird)
• white card (for skeleton face)
• googly eyes (or black marker)
• scissors
• cotton buds (15-20 per Ladybird)
• PVA glue
• paintbrushes for glue
Instructions
Make some great skeletons using black paper, cotton buds and glue. The children can use the cotton buds as ‘bones’ to create their own skeleton. This activity can also create an opportunity to talk about the number of bones we have in our bodies.
Instructions:
Before the meeting:
Cut out the required number of skeleton faces (1 per Ladybird).
Instructions:
We suggest doing the activity early in the meeting to give the glue a chance to dry.
• Talk about how everyone has the same bones as the skeleton – body, legs, arms, head, etc.
• Ask if anyone was unfortunate enough to break a bone, or perhaps someone in their family did? What happened e.g., hospital, x-ray, cast?
• Let the Ladybirds spend 15-20 minutes making their skeletons to their own designs.
• Compare skeletons.
