A race where the beavers move like the thing a leader shouts out. Crab, frog, rabbit or lemur.

Something like a cone which marks the point the beavers must run to before turning back.

Instructions

The beavers are split into teams.
They take turns to race up to a point, and back (possibly around a cone for example).
The beavers tag the next person in their team when they get back then sit down.
If any team has fewer members, ask one beforehand if they mind going first and again after everyone else in their team.
The winning team is the first one with everyone sat down.
The beavers must move like the animal that the leader shouts out - to start with this was as they started running, but the second race we changed randomly while they were racing.
Rabbit - hands on head like ears and jump along.
Frog - jumping, but touching the ground with their hands each time.
Lemur - skipping
Crab - hands above shoulders making pincer action, and move sideways.

The leaders can chose other animals and shout those randomly to see how the beavers move - elephant and giraffe were fun.

Safety - we chose not to get the beavers to move backwards in case they fell down, and chose not to have them move along the floor, but snake and snail may have been interesting.
