Not original, has been done at plenty of scout camp fires I have been to.

Instructions

Can be sung with any age scouts, with a campfire, or without! Traditionally sung in groups, who overlap.

To the tune of London's burning:

Fire's burning, fire's burning
Draw nearer, draw nearer
In the gloaming, in the gloaming
Come sing and be merry

For information: gloaming is an old Scottish word for twilight or dusk.

We have always loved doing this song with one of our leaders called Mary - because the last line sounds like you are telling people to come sing and be Mary.
