Description

Ladybird Activity (how engineers can learn from ladybirds)

Resources

- Activities sheets
- Colours

Instructions

Print: copies of the ladybug activity sheet.
Ask: the girls to colour in the umbrellas and ladybug.
Explain: that a ladybug is a tiny insect with hind wings four times its size and it manages to cram its wings into tiny spaces. This is a valuable lesson for engineers designing deployable structures like umbrellas.
Ask: the girls to list who they would shelter under their umbrella if it was raining.
