This is a fun game designed to reinforce some of the things we do in Beavers inspired by "Captains Coming". Created by our very own Kestrel!

Instructions

A leader calls out a command and the Beavers must carry out the appropriate action. Can be turned into an elimination game if required by making the last beaver(s) to complete the command sit out until only one is left. Just swap the names for your leaders or GSL in the instructions below:

Pitch a tent – hands touching above head (like A in YMCA song)

Toast a marshmallow – mime holding marshmallow in stick and then eating something hot

Hide from [LEADER NAME] – hide behind hands, peekaboo style (eg Hide from Kestrel)

Hand in the air – enough said

Spot a bird – hands as telescope/binoculars

Camp fire – jump around and wave arms pretending to be a fire

Go on a hike – walk around

Pond dipping – mime pond dipping with a net

Raise the flag – mine raising the flag with both hands pulling down

[GSL OR LEADER NAME]’s coming – Scout salute and stand to attention (eg Swan's coming)
