Description

Make a phone holder using pencils and string. Can also be used as a book stand.

Learn how to tie a reef knot and two types of lashing - Japanese Square Lashing and Filipino Diagonal Lashing.
Finish off with optional West Country whipping.

Resources

4 to 5 pencils
3 to 7 lengths of string or thick wool (approx 80cm lengths)

Instructions

Tie two pencils in overlapping L shape using Japanese square lashing.
Tie to L shapes together with Filipino diagonal lashing
Add optional cross support
Add optional whipping to stop phone sliding on pencil
