Eid Flying Carpet Game
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Carpets are used for prayer. YP to make carpet and decorate, then 'fly' the across the room
Resources
A4 paper
pens/pencils/crayons
scissors
Instructions
Cut your sheet of paper in half. One half will be your carpet and the other your fan. Both sheets can be decorated. YP could use symbols from the Muslim faith e.g. temple, star, moon. Once decorated the fan needs to be folded like a concertina and the rug needs to be curled at each end, one curling up and one curling down so the side view looks like a letter S. These edges can also have small cuts along them to look like the tassels on a carpet. YP to line up along one side of the room and fan their carpets to the other side. Who can get there first?!
Game can also be played using tissue as the carpet and seeing how long the carpet can be kept flying in the air before hitting the ground. YP to help it stay up by raising it with their finger.
