Call out the following statements and ask the girls if they think it is True or False.

If you wish to get them moving about, have one side of the hall be for True statements and the other for False.

- When waiting for a bus or train, always stand back from the edge (TRUE)

- The first thing you should do when getting into the car is put on your seatbelt (TRUE)

- You should try to get onto the bus / train whilst people are still getting off (FALSE)

- The driver is in charge of the bus, so always do as they ask you (TRUE)

- When you get off the bus always wait for it to leave before crossing the road (TRUE)

- It’s ok to make loads of noise while travelling on the bus or train (FALSE)

- Do not distract the driver as this may lead to an accident (TRUE)

- You need to wear a helmet while travelling in the car (FALSE)

- I should not share my personal information (full name, address, age etc) with a kind stranger I met on the bus or train (TRUE)

- It’s ok to put my feet up on the seat on the train (FALSE)

You can add more statements if you choose. Discuss with the group each statement to give them a better understanding of the safety element and why we should / or shouldn't do certain things while using public and private transport.
