Description

Spending time in your community doing some weeding / planting for wildlife etc. Get permission first if needed. We split into two groups with some doing gardening and some collecting litter from our local church grounds. This can cover a few elements of different badges such as community impact, gardening, world, agility

Resources

Gardening gloves, tools, bin bag. Seeds, plants, enthusiasm!

Instructions

Talk on safety and about what plants need in order to grow properly. Will add booklet I created.
Talk about making our community a nice place to live and why.
If litter picking also talk about what they must not pick up and to ensure a responsible adult is with the small groups.
Gardening and litter picking can keep you fit - not just about formal exercise - just getting up and moving around can be just as good for your heart and mind.
