Complete the Digital Maker Stage 1 and the Digital Citizen Stage 1 Badges in one session.

Resources

Required:
1. Laptop or computer (just 1 is enough as can be done as a team task)
2. Internet connection

Instructions

Understand / Actions - 5 mins - This can be a basic discussion around what a computer is and how it works. Discuss things they use computers for (mobile phones, games, internet access, homework, talking with friends). Have your cubs draw a picture with all the different devices they use which are computers and what they do on them (focus on searches and the footprint they leave behind, is this ok?)
Help - 20 mins - Discuss what they should do if someone is being mean online to them or others around them. Ask the pack to create some posters for others with at least 3 things they can do to stay safe online.
Passwords - 15 mins - Using the password creator template, have your pack create 5 passwords for use at home.
Graphic - 15 mins - Using a laptop and the Nvidea Canvas tool, create highly detailed art and save them. This is an Arifically enhanced tool that can create beautiful imaged (you can just use paint but this is a little more exciting)
Instructions / Skill - 15 mins - https://www.codeforlife.education/rapidrouter - This is a simple game that uses instructions to direct a car from its home to the garage. It increases in levels so feel free to skip a few if your group find it easy!
