spin on coin
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Scouts spin round 10 times and then try and be first to kick a football in the centre of the room.
Resources
1 coin per team
chalk or masking tape to mark an area which coins can't leave
Soft Football
Instructions
Split troop into teams of roughly 6 to 8 scouts. Number teams from tallest to smallest (so that scouts are playing against scouts roughly own size and age).
Mark a small area roughly size of diameter of a mug in front of each team and place a coin in this area.
Place a football in centre of a room- could use a beanbag or kneckie to grab if room doesn't allow footballs.
Call out a number- 6. Number 6 comes out, places thumb on coin and runs round coin 10 times. Coin must not leave the floor or coin area or else scout has to start again. When 10 revolutions are complete number 6 has to try and kick ball in centre of room. First scout to do this gets a point.
If you have enough leaders/young leaders to allocate one per team suggest you do this to count the revolutions as some scouts think 6 or less = 10. Get the leaders to shout out each revolution as it builds to the excitement of those watching .
