How should Beavers pack their bag for a sleepover and how should they set out their sleeping area when they get there


Resources

A bag packed for sleepover containing:
- leader is wearing full uniform and sensible shoes
- in a carrier bag
- 2 t-shirts
- 2 changes of underwear
- 2 pairs socks
- 2 sweatshirts
- 2 pairs of trousers
- in a carrier bag
- wash kit & towel
- in a carrier bag
- wellingtons
- waterproof jacket
- torch & spare batteries
- sleeping bag & pillow (air mat if needed)
- nightwear
- teddy
- carrier bag for dirty clothes

Also things they should not have
- mobile phone
- camera
- snacks
- money
- medicine

Instructions

Point out that the leader is wearing full uniform and sensible shoes and that they are part of what must be taken.
Unpack the bag, explaining that things are in separate bags to keep them organised and help them find them when needed. Also to keep clean things clean.
Show pictures of the sleeping area (bedrooms or tent).
Lay out the sleeping area, spread out sleeping bag (possibly on air bed), pillow and night wear, torch & teddy at the head. Bag with other stuff at the foot.
Talk about the things you should not bring:
- phone, talk to leaders if you need
- phone and camera may get broken or lost
- snacks, plenty to eat and other children may have allergies so sweets would make them sick
- money not needed and may get lost
- medicine should be handed in

Reinforce messages by completing the worksheet

Pass Crib sheet to parents so they follow guidance when packing for sleepover
