Radiation!!

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Patrols work together to move a bean can filled with coloured water (the radioactive isotope) from one area to another, using a large rubber band and 5/6 lengths of 2m paracord/sisal rope, without spilling the contents

Resources

1 x clean bean / soup tin
1 x large rubber band that will go around the tin without snapping (those rubber bands discarded by postal workers when delivering mail to your door work perfectly!)
1 length of 2m long paracord or sisal rope per Patrol member
coloured water to fill the bean tin to the brim (if indoors, rice can be used)

Instructions

Place the radioactive isotope container in the middle of the room, preferably with a chalked / marked out circle at least 1m in radius from the radioactive container

Mark out an area where the radioactive container is to be transported (preferably 3/4m away from the start point)

hand the rubber band and lengths of paracord / sisal rope to the Patrol Leader

Give the Patrol 5 mins planning - they cannot approach the radioactive container!

Patrols will work out that ting the lengths of rope to the rubber band and working together will enable them to lift the can and move it from one place to another without spilling the content

If Patrols are struggling, ask guided questions!
