Photography Calendar
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Use photographs taken in previous meetings / at home to make a calendar. Pictures would normally as a result of working on the badge requirements Photographer - 10 Photos & Photographer - Camera Use in prior weeks.
Resources
Photos printed out - enough for everyone to have what they need for the calendar. Beavers had taken photos the previous week (in this case, shapes making the letters B.E.A.V.E.R.S). We got these printed (Maxx Speilmann in Tesco) on the self-service kiosks as 3x3 collage of 9 images on a standard photo print (£1.25 each Nov 2022). We had 4 copies of 4 collages (each collage of 9 shots). The collages are then cut into the individual mini-photos.
Preprinted calendars - we used Baker Ross Calendar Blanks (A4 size, heavy card), but you could use any annual calendar format you like or can source cost effectively.
Colouring pens / pencils / decorations etc to personalise the calendar.
Craft glue / glue sticks / double sided tape.
Optional: ribbon to hang the calendar up with.
Instructions
Remind the Beavers of the previous parts of the Photographer badge, and of the images they took.
In lodge groups, have them decorate a calendar blank with a selection of the images they took. They could spell BEAVERS using the shapes they photographed, or create a nice collage of images they like. Use the glue/tape to secure the pictures to the calendar blank.
Encourage Beavers to share the photo's fairly - there may not be enough for everyone to spell BEAVERS for example.
In any time remaining, decorate the rest of the calendar blank in a suitable way (seasonal theme?).
