Description

Musical statues to K-Pop, with the children very quickly making a pose like a K-Pop Star each time they 'freeze'.

Resources

Age-appropriate K-Pop songs and device to play them (e.g. smartphone - speakers recommended!). Example playlist attached.

Instructions

- Dance when the music is playing.

- Very quickly stand still in a K-Pop pose when the music stops. (For example: making a heart sign with two hands, a peace sign and one hand on hip, a shocked face with hands covering mouth, a smile with both hands under chin in a wide V shape.)

- Dance again when the music is back on.

- If you're the last one to move when there is no music, you will be out of the game.

- It’s okay if you are out of the game. This just means that it is not your turn to dance anymore.

- If you are out of the game, watch your friends dance.

- It’s okay if you don’t win the game.

- Have fun playing musical statues with your friends.

Adjustments:

- You could share some 'fun facts' about K-Pop before you begin.

- Instead of not dancing, players that are 'out' could dance in a different area to make clear they're disqualified from winning, while still having fun.

- If you want to make it more complex, you could add a song that it not K-Pop to the playlist (e.g. Despacito, or some Europop) and have a rule that the first person to spot a song with no Korean artists can revive themselves (or, if they're alive, revive another player who they'll tie with if that person goes on to win).
