Musical chairs with New Orlean music
Hurricaine Mocktail making classic New Orleans cocktail - turned into a mocktail
(Mardi Gras maraccas - in the end we had too many activities so ditch this one next time )
King cake decorating - Classic Mardis gras sweet treat - usually a large ring shape sweet bread type cake iced with glace icing and green, purple, and gold eddible glitter . Normally has a small plastic baby hidden inside.

Resources

Masks- plain card mask, elastic, stapler, pens, stickers, crepe paper, feathers and any other craft items to hand

Hurricane Mocktail- cups, measuring jugs, cocktail sticks, chopping board knife. Cocktail cherries, fresh oranges, Ice. For 20 2 litres passion fruit juice, 1 litre orage juice, 1 litre pinapple juice, 250ml lime juice, 250 ml simple syrup, 250 ml grenadine (pomegranite syrup), 2 litres lemonade.

Musical chairs - Mardi Gras music, lots of chairs

King cake - individual ring doughnuts or brioche, glace icing (icing sugar and water), edible purple, gold, green gitter. Bowl and spoons for icing. Plates to eat cake off.

(maracas - paper plates, pens ribbon, wooden lolly sticks, staples and tape, something to rattle inside eg small pasta (we used dried lentils.)

Instructions

Make a carnival mask

Classic Hurricaine mocktail - 50ml passionfruit juice, 25ml orange juice, 25ml pinapple juice, 2 tsp lime juice, 2tsp simple syrup, 2 tsp grenadine. Mix.
put about 2 ice cubes in a glass pour over fruit juice top up with lemonade. garnish with a cherry and a slice of orange on a cocktail stick. Enjoy !

Play musical Chairs

King cake decorate cake/brioche/ring doughnut first with icing then put sprinkles on it - eat!

(Maraccas - decorate the back of a paper plate mardi gras style , tape on the inside of the plate a lolly stick half in half out of the plate. Fold plate in half like a taco, staple up at least half the edge, pour some lentils in the maraccas then continue to staple up the rest of the musical instrument)
